Special: 65th Birthday Gunter Hampel (Aug 31. 2oo2)
Here are messages of congratulations on Gunter's 65th birthday!

Please also refer to the article in the newspaper Göttinger Tageblatt (picture image/German text/English translation) and the announcement by Birth Records on August 28th.

Dear Gunter

all the best wishes for your birthday, all thinkable good wishes. I admire, how you keep on  carrying the message, also handing it over to younger generations and how you stayed young yourself. Our times need urgently personalities like you , who understand Jazz as a challenge for creativ actions , not as a formulare to reproduce , remake , the past. Thank you for EVERYTHING over all these decades and furthermore keep up your positive energy.
Heart-felt greetings from Leipzig.
Bert Noglik

Dear Gunter

Jason Lee

Dear Gunter
ALL ABOUT JAZZ is announcing your birthday today, the september issue of Jazz Podium is dedicating a whole page to you. Happy Birthday !
Hopefully you can  very long continue making music  after the so called
retirement age. Too bad, that Lionel Hampton died on the same day.
Hans Kumpf

reply from Gunter to Hans Kumpf :
yes, dear lionel , I see that as a sign, like the baton in a relay team, because Lionel was the one, who turned me on.....
thanks for your wishes, cool, I will do my best, as long as my body can keep it up !

Happy Birthday pops !
Congrats to you today ! I hope this day reminds you how much we appreciate having you around ! MUCH LOVE
Cavana

Hallo Gunter
wherever you are right now, and whatever you might be doing : Happy greetings to your birthday. When I think about it, since how many generations you are standing on stage, and what a young music you still make, that is incredible, unbelievable, I can't repeat that often enough. I do , as often as I can.
I wish you a wonderful day and am looking forward in hearing your concert Oktober 15. at the Stadtgarten in cologne..

yours sincerely
Hans Juergen von Osterhausen
