Final set for our good friend and inspiration Gunter, before he returns to
Germany in a few weeks.  Gunter plays bass clarinet, flute & vibes
and has continued to explore the many worlds of jazz throughout his
forty plus year career.  His solo set here at DMG earlier this week
was marvelous.  Perry Robinson is another legendary clarinetist with
a long and fruitful career blending the old with the new and just had
a book on his life published.  Lou Grassi is a wonderful local
drummer with numerous great cds out on the CIMP label.

Sunday September 15th-
GUNTER HAMPEL solo bass clarinet, vibes & flute at DMG at 7pm for
free!!  Legendary German/American bandleader and player, moved here
in the late 60's and has influenced the avant/jazz scene ever since,
released over 40 albums & cd's on his own Birth label and utilized
the talents of both downtowners and Europe's finest for over thirty
years!!
